Lakeport Rotary Club

Who is Rotary?

The Rotary Club is composed of a cross section of people just like you.  Some are active community advocates who are well known to citizens of the entire county.  Others prefer to work behind the scenes, but with no less commitment.

Generally regarded as a business person's club, most members are business owners, managers, or supervisors, or administrators of State, City and County governmental agencies.   The common thread among Rotarians is a willingness to step forward and a commitment to serve the community in which we reside and work to make it a better place.

So, please, take a look at our membership CLICK HERE.  You will certainly see members you know.  Ask any member and he or she will be glad to answer any questions as to why YOU should consider becoming a proud member of Rotary.

What is Rotary?

The Rotary Club is a non-profit community service organization which is active locally, regionally, and globally.  Rotary is not a fellowship or social club, they don't own buildings or halls.  Rotary meets at local restaurants or similar establishments, and 100% of funds raised goes directly into club service projects which support Rotary at all levels.

Their work is done through local clubs, districts, and internationally.  Each member club, through dues, "fines", contributions, club fundraising events, etc., supports worldwide efforts and local projects in support of Rotary International.

What does Rotary do?

Each Rotary Club, acting locally, each Rotary District, acting regionally, and Rotary International on a global scale, is dedicated to solving many of the social, medical, and humanitarian problems of mankind, from its many outreach programs.  From its internationally recognized Polio Eradication Program, which will soon rid the world of this insidious disease, to unsung local projects such as building a playground for children of unwed mothers so they can complete their high school education and get their lives back on track, Rotary serves the world every day.
